Unfortunately, this skill is not taught nor even emphasized in most public schools. About 74% of adults fear public speaking and about 94% of teens use social media to communicate on a daily basis. The lack of knowledge, practice, and comfort with public speaking has caused a communication crisis in today’s society, hindering Americans and citizens across the world from being apt in the most useful skill for success.
Enter SpeakUp, a Platform I have created for students to counter the communication crisis and build a foundation for public speaking. SpeakUp is a platform that enhances students’ public speaking skills. Through a plethora of video lessons, specialized exercises, and applied practice sessions, an aspiring public speaker has the opportunity to improve their skills in a short period of time.
